New Year, New Way to Organize your Closet!

The new year is always a great time to create new habits, a new resolution or two, and to create a more organized space. One space that can always use sprucing up is your closet.
Here are just a few ways to change up your closet space and make it a more organized space that represents you.
1.Blank Slate
The best way to tackle a closet is to first take everything out. A blank slate is easier to work with than a full canvas that has too many things to weed through in the space. Use your bed, a spare bed, or a living room as your unloading station.
2.Your Closet Represents You
Then set an intention as to what you want your clothing to represent about you and how you want your closet to represent a space that makes you happy. What is your intention? Do you want to get rid of clothes that you haven't worn in 2 seasons? Probably so. Do you want to have a variety of colors in your wardrobe rather than just a few neutrals? Make that intention when you are going through your clothes in your designated unloading station.
Are you a vintage clothing collector? That's your intention. So, out with the old won't work for you and that is perfectly fine because it represents you.
3.Parting is Such Sweet Sorrow
Is your closet still overflowing after your weed-out process? Find it hard to let go of those memories of each piece? Try rotating out your clothing either by 2 or 4 seasons. Grab a few storage containers to use under the bed or in your closet to give yourself more space for your favorite clothing pieces by season.
4.Did Someone Say Closet System?
If you are able to afford to spend a little money for this closet makeover, a closet system can definitely help you use every single inch of your closet, utilizing maximum space for your clothing. Closet systems can range from DIY systems to custom systems. It's something to consider if you find yourself with "dead space" that could become usable space.
